High protein bar recipes are an economical alternative to other protein bars available in the stores. Choosing a high protein bar as a snack is an excellent way to keep you feeling fuller longer throughout the day. It helps you to prepare for a great workout or outing and helps keep fatigue at bay. Having a high protein diet helps build lean muscles and boosts your immune system.  It offers a convenient way to increase your daily protein intake. Homemade protein bars made with whole grains and nuts are a great option for helping kids get more protein in their diets as well. High protein bars are a convenient way to have a healthy snack on hand.

4 ounces of bakeable whey protein powder (approximately 1 cup)
½ cup of oat bran
½ tsp Sea Salt or Kosher Salt
¼ cup wheat germ
½ cup whole wheat flower
½ cup raisins (chopped)
½ cup dried cranberries (chopped)
½ cup dried blueberries (chopped)
½ cup dried and chopped apricots (optional)
2/3 cup peanut butter
¼ cup honey
2 large whole eggs, beaten
½ cup apple juice
½ packed cup of brown sugar

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  In a 9×13 pan, place parchment paper on the bottom and spray it thoroughly with the spray Pam.

In a large bowl mix together the whey protein powder, oat bran, wheat germ and wheat flour and salt.
In a smaller bowl mix together raisins and dried fruit.

In a third bowl mix brown sugar, honey, apple juice, eggs and peanut butter.  After mixed, combine with protein powder mixture and stir well.  Fold in dried fruit and spread into the pan.  Bake for 35 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 210 degrees.  Remove from oven and fully cool.  Cut into bars and place bars in zip locks.  Store for a week in bags or a little longer if kept in the fridge.  This is one of my favorite high protein bar recipes and my children love it too!

Unbaked high protein bar recipes are another way to prepare a healthy snack. Take a cup of oats, half a cup of oat bran, half a cup of wheat germ and half a cup of vanilla protein powder each. Add one cup of peanut butter, dried fruits, light karo syrup and chocolate chips. Mix the ingredients well and cut it into bar shape and freeze. This recipe is not only save your time, but it also helps you meet the daily protein requirement conveniently.

High protein bar recipes are a great source of protein. You can add some fruits, raisins and berries to sustain your desire for sweets. The bars packed with nutrients can help keep your appetite at a minimum. If you always busy with your work and other tasks leading to missing your meals, homemade protein bars can be an excellent option for you to meet your protein and energy needs.
